Give the Joy of Learning with 90.3 KEDM Public Radio this holiday season!! Your gift to KEDM puts a book in the hands of a child in northeast Louisiana.
KEDM partnering with the United Way of Northeast Louisiana and the Read, Learn, Succeed program to give books to students in 13 schools in our community.
Your $20 gift to KEDM provides a book for a in Monroe City, Ouachita, Lincoln, and Union parishes.
Last year, this campaign provided over 1,000 books, and raised vital operating funds for KEDM! This year, the goal is 1,700 books to first and second grade students in schools with the greatest barriers to academic achievement.
Nearly 71% of fourth graders in Louisiana are not reading at grade level, according to “The Nation’s Report Card, NAEP-2015 Mathematics & Reading Assessments.” In 2016, KEDM partnered with the United Way of Northeast Louisiana to identify fourteen schools in the listening area whose students would most benefit from starting or growing a home library.
Make your tax-deductible year-end gift today and Give the Joy of Learning!
