LA HOUSING SEMINARSome special seminars will be held in Shreveport and Monroe this Week to let people learn about how they may apply for government assistance in repairing or replacing rental properties that were affected by last year’s floods.  The Louisiana Housing Corporation is conducting the seminars and has released funding guidelines as of May 15 for the Louisiana Neighborhood Landlord Rental Program and the Multifamily Restoration Gap Program in separate documents known as notifications of funding availability. The two programs make a total of $74 million in funding available for landlords and developers to restore the amount of available, affordable rental housing across the state. This funding is available as a direct result of the March and August 2016 floods. The Louisiana Neighborhood Landlord Rental Program covers new and existing rental properties with no more than seven units. The Multifamily Restoration Gap Program covers existing properties with 20 or more units. Developers and landlords interested in either program are invited to attend informational seminars that are scheduled in several areas.  To learn more: http://restore.la.gov/landlords-developers-rental-program-seminars/
