The Rich Design Resource of The Cooley House

courtesy

For over 20 years, the Cooley House has served as a unique resource to area college students with it's architectural design.  A discussion of this collaboration is presented by Louisiana Tech School of Design - Architecture professor Guy Carwile, as part of the Cooley House Foundation Lecture Series.

Carwile says the original work began in 1991 under Tech professor Lestar Martin.  Students are tasked with measurement and observations of the house on South Grand Street in Monroe.  Carwile also comments on the significance of the house being listed on the Register of Historic Places.

The lecture is presented on Thursday, 6 p.m., in the Ouachita Grand Plaza.  A reception follows Carwile's presentation.  The public is welcome to attend the series event.
