Like Something New? Learn About The Brew

J. Curtis

The 8th Annual Friends of KEDM Beer Tasting is Thursday, July 16th at the Marsala Beverage Pavilion.

Over 100 beers are featured for sampling.  The signature event allows guests to not only sip some of their favorites, but find some new flavors as well.  Marsala's Tyler Flemister says there's an ever-growing number of regional craft beers.

"Craft breweries are exploding across the nation.  We're always looking to bring a good assortment for customers to try," he said.  In addition to Shreveport crafters, Flemister says they've recently partnered with a brewery from Hawaii that will be available at the tasting event.

With the popularity of home brewing, Flemister says the event allows guests to learn about the process.  "It's a lot of information you can find out.  What works and things these brewers who do it for a living have tried.  You can see what you could apply at home," he said.

Friends of KEDM President Babbette Adcock says guests can enjoy Rhoda Brown's award-winning bar-b-q, or tasty burgers from Slider Riders.  Live music is presented by Alan Brockman and Jesse Grinter.

The beer tasting begins at 6 p.m.  Tickets are $15.  Food purchases are separate from admission fee.
