As northeast Louisiana looks for a temporary thaw from freezing temperatures and icy roads, the National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Winter Storm Watch through Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Forecasters predict that Tuesday night the system will bring rain that changes to freezing rain, sleet, or snow. Snow accumulations of one to two inches will be possible before the storm moves out of the area late Wednesday afternoon or early Wednesday evening.
The winter precipitation should begin after midnight Tuesday and continue overnight.
The impact of the storm will be confined to bridges and overpasses, but forecasters warn that if the snow comes down quickly enough, then surface streets could see accumulations as well.
